This Privacy Policy explains how Skill Timer ("the App") collects, uses, and protects your personal data. By
using the App, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Data We Collect
The App does not collect personally identifiable information (e.g., names, emails, payment
details).
Automatically Collected Technical Data (non-personal):
- Device Model (e.g., "iPhone 12", "Samsung Galaxy S22")
- OS Version (e.g., "iOS 16.5", "Android 13")
- App Version Number
- Crash Logs (Information about app crashes, including stack traces, but excluding any personal data that
might have been present in memory at the time of the crash.)
- Usage Frequency (e.g., "How often the app is opened")
- Feature Usage
- We do not collect your detailed skill performance data.
This data is used solely to improve the app's performance, diagnose and fix bugs, and understand how users
interact with the app to guide future development. This data is not used for advertising or shared with
third parties for marketing purposes.
3. How The App Uses Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the App’s features:
- Save and display timings, skills, and notes.
- Generate statistics (averages, progress rates).
- Enable data export/import and future cloud sync (via third-party cloud storage services).
- Personalize themes and language settings.
Legal Basis (GDPR):
- The legal basis for processing the skill/timing data, app settings, and exported/imported data you
voluntarily provide is the performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). We need this data to
provide the core functionality of the Skill Timer app.
- The legal basis for processing the automatically collected technical data is our legitimate interest
(GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in improving the app's functionality, stability, and user experience. We have
conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment and determined that our interests are not overridden by your
rights and freedoms, as the data collected is limited and non-personal.
4. Data Sharing
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers,
marketers, or analytics services.
- Cloud Sync: If you choose to enable synchronization with third-party cloud storage
providers, your data will be transmitted to and stored on their servers. We do not have access to your
account credentials for these services. You should review the privacy policies of the respective cloud
storage providers to understand their data handling practices.
- Legal Compliance: Data may be disclosed if required by law.
5. Data Security
- Local Storage: Data is stored locally on your device.
- Important Note about Exported Data: Files you export from the app are not
encrypted. This means that if you share these files with others, or if they are intercepted during
transmission, the data they contain could be read by unauthorized parties. You are solely responsible
for the security of any data you export from the app.
- Third-Party Cloud Storage: Data syncs rely on the security measures provided by the
respective cloud storage providers.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Access, Edit, or Delete Data: Use in-app tools to delete timings/skills or export data.
Data export is unencrypted, so user should consider if they want to do this.
- Request Deletion: Permanently erase all data via the "Delete Data" button in Settings.
All data is removed as soon as possible.
- Withdraw Consent: Stop using the App and delete your data.
7. Data Retention
- Data is stored locally until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Exported files persist until you delete them manually.
8. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that
we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it
as soon as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided us
with personal information, please contact us at info@nixlab.in. Minors
aged 13+ should use the App with parental consent.
9. Regional Disclosures
- California (CCPA): We do not sell data.
- GDPR (EU): You have the right to lodge complaints with your local data authority.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting
a prominent notice within the app and updating the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this policy. We
encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after any changes to
this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
